Master of Science in Electrical Systems Engineering

Paderborn, Germany Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

The Master of Science in Electrical Systems Engineering (MS ESE) at Paderborn University is a two-year, full-time programme combining methods from electrical engineering, information technology, computer engineering, and applied mathematics for the design of complete electrical systems. The programme offers two specialisations: Signal and Information Processing, which focuses on the computational aspects of system behaviour, and Electronics and Devices, which covers IC design at the micro- and nano-scale and hardware implementation. The programme is structured over four semesters, including three course semesters and a six-month Master's thesis. A central feature is a year-long student project group in which teams of roughly six to twelve students work with a research group on a research-related project. International students are required to take a German language course as part of their general studies. The programme is accredited by ASIIN, a member of the Washington Accord. Courses are delivered by the department's full professors and supplemented by guest lectures from international academics and practically-oriented courses by industry lecturers. The programme is offered at Paderborn University in Paderborn, Germany.
