The Master's in Finance at Ulm University is a quantitatively oriented programme offering three specialisations: Actuarial Science, Financial Economics, and Financial Mathematics. Students choose their specialisation after the first semester. The Actuarial Science track focuses on methods used in the insurance industry, and students may sit the entrance examinations of the German Association of Actuaries (DAV) during the programme. Financial Economics covers stock returns, credit and market risk, and financial institutions, with the option to include econometrics, machine learning, or actuarial science courses. Financial Mathematics develops mathematical and stochastic modelling for the evaluation of complex financial products. The programme runs over four semesters, with three semesters of coursework and one semester for the Master's thesis. Course types include core modules, practical courses and seminars, and a broad range of optional electives that deepen specialisation knowledge.
