    About Master in Materials engineering

Tuition fees are 8,560 EUR per year.

This master's program in Materials Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology offers two specialisations, Biomaterials and Materials for Energy, taught in English in Warszawa, Poland, over three semesters, with the next intake starting February 23, 2026, and annual tuition of 8,560 EUR. The interdisciplinary course builds knowledge and skills in advanced material science, with a particular focus on materials for medical applications under the Biomaterials track. Students learn to develop knowledge in biomaterials, including their design, characterization, fabrication, and application across different fields of medicine. Coursework covers metals, ceramics, polymers, and composites used in medicine, along with the role materials science plays in designing and optimizing them, plus modern methods of shaping material properties, design, and manufacturing in the context of interaction with living cells and the replacement or regeneration of tissues and organs. Further topics include the impact of a living organism on biomaterial and implant behaviour, the degradation of various biomaterials, the basics of cell and tissue biology, and the biocompatibility, biophysical, biochemical, and biomechanical requirements of biomaterials and medical devices. Example modules include Materials Design, Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology, Phase Transformations, Thermodynamics of Alloys, Biomaterials, Bioengineering, Methods of Biomaterials Characterization, Tissue Engineering, Defects of Crystalline Structure, and Microbiological Corrosion. Graduates may find employment at biomedical companies, or within state and private hospitals and diagnostic clinics, while those on the Materials for Energy track apply similar advanced-materials training to energy-sector applications, giving the program's graduates a route into both healthcare technology and energy-materials careers.
