Mathematics Teaching prepares students to teach mathematics at the secondary school level, combining substantial mathematical training with dedicated pedagogical preparation. The curriculum typically covers algebra, calculus, geometry, statistics, and discrete mathematics at a depth suitable for teaching, alongside education coursework in curriculum design, teaching methods, assessment, and educational psychology. Students learn to translate abstract mathematical ideas into structured lessons, develop materials and activities that build conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills, and recognize common student misconceptions in areas such as algebraic reasoning or geometric proof. Supervised teaching practice in schools is a standard component of the program, allowing future teachers to plan lessons, manage classrooms, and assess student learning under guidance before they graduate. Graduates typically work as mathematics teachers in secondary schools, while the combination of mathematical depth and teaching training also supports work in curriculum development and educational materials design. This bachelor's program is delivered in English over 4 years at Boğaziçi University, located in İstanbul, Turkey. English-medium instruction gives future teachers strong command of mathematical and educational terminology as commonly used in international teaching resources and research. Boğaziçi University is one of Turkey's leading public universities, and its education faculty in İstanbul offers this program alongside strong mathematics departments, supporting both rigorous content study and focused teacher preparation. Over the four years, coursework typically builds from foundational mathematics and educational theory toward specialized teaching methodology and supervised classroom practice, preparing graduates to teach mathematics at the secondary level upon graduation.
