Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical engineering studies the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems, spanning areas such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science, machine design, and manufacturing processes. Students typically move through a sequence of mathematics and physics foundations before specializing in topics like heat transfer, robotics, automotive systems, energy systems, and control engineering. Laboratory work and design projects are common, giving students hands-on experience with computer-aided design tools, prototyping, and testing equipment alongside theoretical coursework. Graduates of mechanical engineering programs pursue careers in automotive, aerospace, energy, manufacturing, and industrial equipment sectors, working as design engineers, production engineers, research and development specialists, or project managers. This bachelor's program is delivered in English over 4 years at Başkent University in Ankara, Turkey. As a second intake of the same discipline, the program follows the standard mechanical engineering curriculum structure common to Turkish universities offering English-medium instruction.
