The Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (BEng) at Technische Hochschule Nürnberg Georg Simon Ohm is a seven-semester programme conducted entirely in English and designed for around fifty to sixty new students per year. The relatively small cohort size enables close contact between students and faculty throughout the programme. The first four semesters provide a comprehensive foundation in mechanical engineering, including engineering design, simulation, manufacturing, mechanics, thermodynamics, materials science, numerical methods, computer science, and mechatronics. Students gain hands-on experience through laboratory work and industry projects. The final three semesters offer advanced coursework, an internship, and a Bachelor's thesis; the sequence of these later semesters is flexible, allowing students to incorporate study abroad periods. In addition to technical knowledge, the programme develops intercultural teamwork and communication skills. German language courses are integrated from the first semester for students who intend to pursue careers in German-speaking countries, while German-speaking students may take an additional foreign language.
