Poznan University of Technology

Master in Mechatronics

Poznań, Poland Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

Poznan University of Technology, located in Poznań, offers Mechatronics as a master's program taught in English, running three semesters (one and a half years). The course is intended for mechatronic engineers who want to broaden their education in mechatronic design, integrating mechanical engineering, electronics and control engineering within the design process. Teaching combines theory with practice, balancing analysis and modeling against hardware implementation across mechanics, electronics and computer applications in control. Students learn to design and investigate mechanical, electrical and microcontroller systems and to integrate them, developing an understanding of system dynamics that they apply to modeling and controller design. A distinguishing feature of mechatronic design is the ability to replace certain mechanical functions with electronic and software equivalents, and the program's central learning objective is preparing students to work across this boundary. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Management, which offers the course, has close to twenty years of experience teaching mechatronics, and provides advanced equipment along with experienced staff to support what the university describes as high-quality education. Mechatronics as a field trains engineers to design intelligent, integrated systems that combine sensors, actuators and control software, and graduates typically pursue careers in automation, robotics, product design and manufacturing engineering. Given the growing role of automated and sensor-driven systems across industry, mechatronics specialists are in demand across sectors ranging from automotive and aerospace to consumer electronics and industrial machinery, where the ability to bridge mechanical and software design is increasingly valued.
