Medya ve Görsel Sanatlar

Media and Visual Arts brings together the study of film, photography, digital media, and visual communication. Students examine how images and narratives are produced, distributed, and interpreted, working across studio production, critical theory, and visual culture. Coursework typically covers video production, graphic and digital design, media theory, and the history of visual art alongside practical workshops in editing and post-production. Graduates pursue careers in film and television production, advertising, digital content creation, journalism, and gallery or museum work, as well as further study in media studies or fine arts. The program is taught in English and runs over 4 years at Koç University, located in İstanbul, Turkey. Over the 4 years of study, students move from foundational courses toward more specialized electives, building both the theoretical grounding and the practical skills expected in the field. Studying at Koç University places students within İstanbul's wider academic and professional community, giving access to campus resources, faculty guidance, and opportunities to connect coursework with real-world practice through projects, internships, or research work depending on the track chosen. By graduation, students are expected to have a solid command of the discipline's core methods and terminology, along with the communication and analytical habits needed to move into entry-level professional roles or continue toward graduate study.
