Medical Device Reprocessing Technician

This program is grounded in infection prevention principles and standardized safety practices. Students learn to decontaminate, inspect, assemble, sterilize, and store reusable medical equipment. They apply theory to practice through hands-on training with sterilization equipment. Graduates perform duties in hospital and clinical settings under supervision.

24 weeks, 15 credits, includes four unpaid work integrated learning experiences, delivered through distance education.

Graduates work as medical device reprocessing technicians in hospital departments, endoscopic clinics, and surgical centres.

Grade 12, minimum age 18 by December 31 of admission year, English language requirement not specified, must provide immunization records, criminal record check, TLR© certification, and WHMIS certification before starting WIL.
