Tıp

This program provides a foundation in medicine, covering human anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology, and clinical practice across the major specialties. Early years focus on basic sciences and laboratory work, while later years move into clinical rotations in hospital and outpatient settings, where students apply diagnostic reasoning and patient care skills under supervision. Coursework typically progresses from cellular and molecular biology through organ-system modules to clerkships in internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and psychiatry. Graduates pursue careers as physicians, often continuing into residency training in a chosen specialty, and some move into research, public health, or academic medicine. The program is taught in English over 6 years at Istanbul Health and Technology University, located in Istanbul, Turkey. Studying in an English-medium environment allows students to work with international medical literature and prepares them for licensing pathways that require English proficiency. The Istanbul setting places students near major teaching hospitals and a large patient population, giving them exposure to a broad range of clinical cases. Throughout the program, an emphasis is placed on building both the scientific knowledge and the practical, communication-based skills that clinical practice demands, alongside professional ethics and patient safety standards expected of practicing physicians.
