About the Program

Navigation at Warsaw University of Technology, with a specialization in Mobile Mapping and Navigation Systems, is a master's program at the Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography taught in English over three semesters, equivalent to one and a half years, with yearly tuition of 3,000 EUR, starting in October. The program's main aim is to build knowledge in collecting, processing, and analyzing spatial data for the needs of modern navigation systems. Students learn the principles of designing, developing, and using mobile measurement platforms and mobile mapping systems, how to design location-based systems and navigation applications built on GNSS and combined GNSS/INS technology, and how to choose appropriate techniques for acquiring spatial data, including photogrammetry, remote sensing, and computer vision. Students also study outdoor navigation systems, such as those used in self-driving cars and UAVs, as well as indoor navigation systems, and learn to integrate and process data from multiple sensors for navigation applications. Modules include standards for geodata, modern photogrammetry, 3D city modelling, a programming language with numerical methods, reference systems for navigation, integrated navigation systems, satellite navigation systems, principles of transport economics, intelligent transportation systems and autonomous cars, and urban solutions for autonomous vehicles. Graduates are prepared for roles in the processing and analysis of geospatial data, the design of location and navigation applications, and the development of positioning and attitude determination systems for autonomous and mobile platforms, applying the three-semester curriculum's blend of geodesy, computer vision, and navigation engineering.
