Paramedic

Students in this programme respond to emergency calls involving injury or illness in the community. They train in classrooms, labs, clinical settings, and field practice. The programme prepares students to provide pre-hospital emergency care. Graduates are eligible to write the provincial AEMCA exam.

4 semesters, in person, includes 420 hours of field preceptorship and 30 hours of ambulance operations.

Graduates work as primary care paramedics in ambulance services across Ontario.

OSSD with Gr 12 (C) English, Gr 11 (C) Math, Gr 11 (U) or Gr 12 (C) Chemistry, and Gr 11 (C) Biology. Minimum 65% in each course. G2 Class License required at entry. ePortfolio with evidence in work, driving, community, education, awards, physical and mental readiness.
