Perioperative Nursing/RN

This programme is designed for registered nurses seeking advanced training. It prepares nurses to work in surgical environments as scrub or circulating nurses. Students learn aseptic techniques and surgical procedures through online theory and hands-on labs. The program supports career advancement in perioperative care.

Eight months full-time or three years part-time. Includes five theory courses over 22 weeks. One-week skills lab and 10-week clinical practice with instructor-led and preceptored components.

Graduates enter roles as perioperative nurses in hospital operating rooms, ambulatory surgery centres, and freestanding clinics.

Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse in the province where clinical practice occurs. English language requirement met through nursing licensure. Applicants must provide immunization records, CPR certification, TLR® certification, N95 mask testing, WHMIS certification, and a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
