This programme trains students to work as personal support workers in long-term care, community care, and hospital settings. Students learn to provide safe, compassionate care to people of all ages. This includes those with cognitive impairments, physical disabilities, and mental health challenges. Care is based on individual values, beliefs, and needs. Skills in communication, assessment, and care planning are developed under ethical guidelines.

The programme lasts 30 weeks over two semesters. It includes hands-on training in simulation labs and simulated apartments. Clinical placements take place in the Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent areas. Sites include long-term care facilities, community care centres, and hospitals. Assessments are based on practical performance, written assignments, and placement participation. All pre-placement requirements must be met before starting clinical work.

Admission requires an OSSD with most courses at the College, University, University/College, or Open level. Mature students may apply through special procedures. A Vulnerable Sector Police Check, CPR Level C, Standard First Aid, and Mask Fit are required. International students need a COOP Work Permit for placements.
