The PGCE Secondary Mathematics programme runs over a single academic year, blending university study with extensive school experience. Students begin with a few weeks of intensive workshops, seminars and lectures on the Norwich campus, before undertaking two school placements that together total at least 120 days. Teaching responsibilities increase gradually, allowing you to build confidence and reflect on practice as you progress.

A distinctive feature of this course is the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and 90 Master’s credits on successful completion, both accredited by the Department for Education. The programme also benefits from a wide partnership of schools across East Anglia, ensuring contrasting placement opportunities.
