These awards support a diverse range of doctoral pathways, encompassing traditional written theses, creative-critical PhDs, and professional practice doctorates within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.

Specialist Research Support

Beyond the standard rigorous training provided to all UEA postgraduate researchers, award holders gain exclusive access to specialist opportunities via the AHRC Doctoral Landscape Hub, directed by King’s College London. The programme is uniquely designed to support 3.5 years of study, with an optional six-month extension specifically tailored for employability-enhancing activities, such as industry placements or advanced specialist training.

We are deeply committed to widening participation and fostering an inclusive research environment. One studentship is specifically reserved for candidates from historically underrepresented backgrounds, including those from ethnic minority groups, first-generation higher education graduates, individuals with disabilities, or those who have faced significant educational disruption.
