Phd Environmental Science

For Phd Environmental Science, the tuition fee is 24,795 GBP per year.

Addressing the complex intersection of environmental health and human well-being requires a deep understanding of the chemical, biological, and physical systems that sustain our world. This PhD programme provides a platform for doctoral researchers to contribute to high-impact science, exploring the links between environmental quality—such as air and water purity—and its direct effects on human populations and wildlife.

Based within a department renowned for its expertise in toxicology and environmental chemistry—having been recognized with a Queen’s Anniversary Prize for its influential work on endocrine-disrupting chemicals—the programme is designed for those who wish to pursue rigorous, applied research. You will work alongside world-leading experts to develop solutions for environmental challenges, whether through predictive modeling, mechanistic risk assessment, or engineering interventions.

Core Research Pillars

• Environmental Change: Advancing predictive modeling and disaster management strategies.
• Environmental Health & Ecosystems: Investigating the impact of pollutants, including pharmaceuticals and carcinogens, on biological systems.
• Biological Pathways & Systems: Examining the molecular and cellular foundations of environmental stress responses.
• Environmental Solutions: Developing innovative engineering and management techniques to ensure the safety of food, water, and air.
