The PhD in Mathematics gives you access to a broad spectrum of research areas, from applied topics such as biological mathematics and quantum fluids to pure subjects like number theory and set theory, and benefits from the university’s links to the Norwich Research Park. It is aimed at candidates who already hold a UK upper-second-class honours degree or a master’s degree and wish to develop independent research skills, either by joining an existing project or proposing their own, with options to study full-time or part-time. You will work closely with specialist supervisors in one of six research groups, benefit from a flexible three-year research period followed by up to a further year to submit your thesis, and can start on three occasions each year.
