You will spend most weeks planning, conducting and analysing original research in your chosen area of business, meeting regularly with your supervisor, and drafting chapters for your thesis. Throughout the year you attend research workshops, present progress at departmental seminars and engage with the wider academic community.

A distinctive feature of this programme is the formal three-stage milestones—Registration, Progression and Examination—that structure the doctoral journey. At registration you submit an expression of interest, receive a conditional offer and develop a research proposal under a designated supervisor. Progression requires a written paper and oral presentation within 18 months (full-time) or 36 months (part-time). The final examination consists of a thesis submission and viva voce with at least one external examiner.
