PhD Postgraduate research in Pharmacy

Students conduct experiments in specialised pharmaceutical laboratories that support advanced drug design, formulation and analytical studies. The PhD programme lets you investigate novel compound development, drug-delivery systems, clinical pharmacy practice and natural-product therapeutics, connecting laboratory work with real-world health challenges.

The degree is intended for graduates who already hold a suitable master’s degree or an honours degree in pharmacy or a related science and who aim to build a career in pharmaceutical research or academia. You will be supervised by leading academics, benefit from links with NHS trusts and pharmaceutical companies, and you may study full-time over four years or part-time over eight years.
