PhD Programme in Medical Sciences

Tbilisi Medical Academy (TMA) is a private medical university in Georgia’s capital, founded in 1992 and focused on training physicians and healthcare professionals. TMA offers both Georgian and English-taught programs and attracts an international student body seeking a practical, clinically oriented medical education in a compact, supportive setting. The academy emphasizes modern clinical practices and foundational biomedical sciences.

Programs are designed to combine classroom learning with hands-on clinical training, preparing graduates for medical practice and further specialization. Small class sizes and targeted clinical placements help students build practical skills and professional confidence. The English-medium track is particularly welcoming for international applicants who want an affordable pathway to a recognized medical qualification in Europe.

Living and studying in Tbilisi provides access to a multicultural environment, growing healthcare networks, and reasonable living costs. TMA’s focused program structure supports international students through orientation and academic guidance, making it a practical option for those prioritizing clinical experience, international exposure, and a clear path toward professional licensure or postgraduate training.
