About the Program

This Master's is driven by a self-defined project, with each student allocated dedicated tutorial support to develop their authorship of advanced studio work and formulate a critical position for their practice.

The emphasis falls on locating your own work within the histories and practices of lens-based media, establishing a rigorous connection between practice and theory, and engaging with contemporary debate about how ideas are developed and communicated. Students are pushed to become autonomous and self-directed, with a trajectory toward professional practice or a future Professional Doctorate. Critiques with the year group and tutor punctuate each assessment stage. Note: not running for September 2026 entry.
