About Bachelor in Physics and astronomy

At Pedagogical University of Cracow, tuition is 1,000 EUR per year.

Pedagogical University of Cracow offers a Physics with Astronomy bachelor's program, running three years across six semesters and taught in English. Since 2014, the university has offered these Physics with Astronomy courses to students from abroad who want to study in Kraków, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The physics component covers the range of modern physics, while the astronomy component builds a foundation in modern astronomy and astrophysics across the wavelength spectrum and across scales, alongside classes in modern data analysis, data mining, and statistics, skills the program notes are widely applicable outside astronomy as well. Students also take classes on variable stars and asteroseismology, taught by research staff working at the university's Mt. Suhora Astronomical Observatory. During the program, students gain hands-on experience observing at the Mt. Suhora Observatory, located about 70 km south of Kraków in the Gorce Mountains, and they also use the university's high-energy laser and materials science laboratories. Eligible students may take part in Study Away programs. Topics covered across the program include the solar system and exoplanets, stellar physics, stellar oscillations, astronomical instruments, cosmology, variable stars, data mining, asteroseismology, astrophysical models, numerical methods in astronomy, and the Galaxy and extragalactic astrophysics. Yearly tuition is EUR 1,000. The program combines classroom physics with direct observational experience, giving students a route into astronomy-adjacent research or further graduate study, supported by dedicated observatory and laboratory facilities.
