This programme prepares students to work as Licensed Practical Nurses in Alberta. Students learn patient care assessment, monitoring, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The curriculum includes classroom theory and hands-on lab training. Over 700 hours of work-integrated learning occur in acute and long-term care settings.

2 years, 82.5 credits, includes work-integrated learning and practicum.

Graduates are eligible to write the Canadian Practical Nursing Registration Exam and become Licensed Practical Nurses in various healthcare settings.

Minimum 60% in English 30-1 or 70% in English 30-2; minimum 60% in Math 20-1 or higher; minimum 60% in Biology 30 or C- in BIO-1160. IELTS 6.5 (speaking), 6.5 (listening), 6.0 (reading), 6.5 (writing) or equivalent. Admission is competitive based on a point system.
