Pre-Pipe Trades Certificate

Tuition is CAD 6,630 per year.

The program includes 15 weeks of hands-on training in plumbing and gasfitting. Students learn safety practices, use tools and materials, work with metal, read drawings, and complete calculations. A practicum placement provides real-world experience in a work setting. This program prepares students to take the First Period Alberta Apprenticeship exam through Prior Learning Assessment.

Courses cover workplace safety, rigging, tools and equipment, metal fabrication, drawings and specifications, and science and calculations. Students gain skills in reading blueprints, using hand and power tools, and working with pipes and fittings. Job readiness skills include writing resumes and preparing for interviews.

The program starts in September and February. It is not available to international students. Applicants must meet academic and non-academic requirements. Upon completion, students earn a certificate and are ready to begin a four-year plumber apprenticeship in Alberta.
