Courses cover engine and truck company operations, technical rescue, and fire service leadership. The programme ends with a pre-graduate experience that assesses readiness for certification.

An Ontario Secondary School Diploma is required, with English and math at the 12th grade level. A physical fitness test must be passed, and no criminal record without a pardon is allowed. The programme begins in September. Graduates can take provincial exams for firefighter certification under NFPA 1001 and NFPA 1072 standards.
