About Primary Care Paramedic

Tuition is $11,140 for the 2026-27 academic year.

The Primary Care Paramedic programme prepares students for licensure as paramedics in Canada. Graduates deliver pre-hospital emergency care in diverse settings including homes, streets, and industrial sites. The programme includes hands-on training in medical and trauma emergencies, mental health, obstetrics, pharmacology, and patient assessments. Students complete hospital and ambulance practicums to develop clinical and decision-making skills.

Focus areas include medical emergencies, trauma injuries, mental health issues, obstetrical emergencies, pharmacology, cardiac and respiratory emergencies.

One year, full-time, on-campus; includes classroom, lab, simulation, and practicum components; no co-op mentioned.

Graduates work as primary care paramedics in ambulance, air ambulance, fire protection, military, mine, and industrial settings.

Grade 12 with minimum 60% average in 30-level English Language Arts, one of Biology 30 or Chemistry 30, and one of Workplace and Apprenticeship Math 30, Foundations of Math 30, or Pre-Calculus 30. English language proficiency required for non-native speakers. Standard First Aid, CPR C AED, TLR® certification, criminal record check, immunizations, and N95 mask testing required before program start.

On-campus, full-time, one year.
