This module addresses the increasing clinical complexity of childbearing years, specifically focusing on the advanced knowledge and skills required for the interprofessional provision of maternal critical care. It is designed for practitioners who need to identify and manage critical care requirements within a maternity setting, grounding their practice in current evidence and practical application.

Clinical Integration and Professional Development

Participants are challenged to source and apply underpinning evidence directly to their practice. The module is structured to allow professionals to:

• Update their expertise in a specialized field of practice.
• Return to an academic environment to further develop both knowledge and clinical skills.
• Gain CATs points that may contribute toward a broader postgraduate award.

Please note that where a clinical skills component is included, students may require support and supervision from an experienced practitioner within their own clinical area.
