The Program in English for Overseas Master Students is a two-year master's program at Tokushima University in Tokushima, Japan, taught in English, with entry in April / October. Designed for overseas master's students across the university's graduate schools, the program allows students to pursue coursework and thesis research in their chosen field, drawing on Tokushima University's strengths across integrated arts and sciences, science and technology, bioscience and bioindustry, and the health sciences. Students typically combine core graduate coursework with a supervised research project leading to a thesis over the two years of study. Tokushima University was established as a national university in 1949 and today has about 7,600 students and about 2,400 staff members across two campuses. The Josanjima campus houses the Faculty of Integrated Arts and Sciences, the Faculty of Science and Technology, the Faculty of Bioscience and Bioindustry, and the Graduate School of Sciences and Technology for Innovation, and it trains engineers and other specialists while carrying out research in each of those areas. The Kuramoto campus houses the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Dentistry, and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, along with five graduate schools covering Medical Sciences, Nutrition and Biosciences, Oral Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Health Science. Graduates of a master's program of this kind commonly move into technical or research roles related to their field of specialization, or continue into doctoral study for those pursuing a research career. Admission requires an English proficiency score from TOEIC, TOEFL, or IELTS, together with document screening, an interview, and an oral examination with presentation. Because instruction is delivered in English over two years, overseas master's students can complete the degree while based at Tokushima University's Kuramoto or Josanjima campus.
