With around 30,160 students and approximately 1,702 international students, SAIT combines a broad range of technical programs with connections to employers across sectors. The institute’s emphasis on hands-on experience and workplace readiness makes it a destination for students seeking practical skills and strong employment outcomes.

SAIT offers programs in areas such as technology, trades, business, health sciences, and applied sciences, delivered through labs, workshops, and co-operative education opportunities. Curriculum is developed with industry partners to ensure graduates meet current workplace standards, and faculty often bring professional experience into the classroom. Campus services and learning hubs support skill development, entrepreneurship, and student projects that address real employer needs.

International students can expect dedicated support for admissions, visas, and transition to campus life, alongside career services that help secure internships and employment. Applicants should prepare academic documents and any required language test results, and explore scholarships or financial planning resources early. For students seeking a pragmatic, employer-linked education in Canada with strong applied training and industry connections, SAIT provides a career-focused pathway into technical and professional fields.

    About the Program

This course teaches how to work with industrial automation systems using Logix platforms and Studio 5000 software. It covers building and configuring projects, setting up input/output devices, and writing logic routines with timers, counters, and one-shot instructions. Training includes hands-on practice in real-world settings such as manufacturing, robotics, and energy systems. Students create stable, efficient control programs that meet modern automation requirements.

Students use Studio 5000 to develop, test, and modify control logic. Tasks include adding comments, organizing code, and handling data conversions. They also learn edge detection and timing functions to improve system performance. The course focuses on practical skills used in industrial control environments.

After finishing the course, students can print a proof of completion from their student account. The course is available in multiple formats: on-campus, online scheduled, blended, and self-paced. Registration closes seven days before the start date for most formats. It closes one day before for self-paced courses.
