Psychology examines human thought, emotion, and behavior, covering areas such as cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, social psychology, and research methods. Students learn how mental processes and behavior are studied scientifically, including experimental design, statistics, and psychological assessment. Coursework often explores memory, perception, personality, and abnormal psychology, alongside biological bases of behavior. Practical components may include observation exercises, data collection, and analysis of psychological studies, building both theoretical understanding and applied research skills. Graduates pursue further study toward becoming licensed psychologists or counselors, as well as roles in human resources, market research, education, and social services. This bachelor program runs 4 years and is taught in English at Altınbaş University in İstanbul, Turkey, offering international students an English-medium psychology curriculum within a Turkish university setting. The program balances scientific rigor in research methods with exposure to applied areas such as clinical, developmental, and organizational psychology. Group projects and case analyses give students opportunities to apply psychological concepts to real situations. Studying in İstanbul also exposes students to a large, culturally diverse population relevant to social and cross-cultural psychology topics.
