Bachelor in Psychology Bsc Hons

Tuition fees are 18,300 GBP per year.

At its core, psychology is the pursuit of understanding why we think, feel, and behave the way we do. This British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited programme invites you to explore the complexities of the human mind, from the neurological foundations of cognition to the social dynamics that shape our relationships and societal structures. Rather than simply memorizing theory, you will engage with the same empirical rigour that has defined the department since 1928, utilizing specialized facilities like the Brain Stimulation Laboratory and the Audiometric Lab to test your hypotheses in real-world contexts.

The curriculum is designed for those who wish to bridge the gap between abstract psychological theory and tangible societal benefit. Whether you are interested in the developmental milestones of childhood, the psychological impact of high-risk workplaces, or the mechanics of memory and mental health, you will be guided by research-active staff. A key differentiator of this programme is its distinctive clinical focus; high-achieving students have the rare opportunity to fast-track onto a fully-funded integrated Clinical Doctorate, providing a clear, supported pathway into a professional career in clinical psychology.

Practical Application and Professional Development

Beyond the classroom, the course emphasizes versatility. You can tailor your experience through optional modules—such as animal psychology with field trips to wildlife reserves—or choose to undertake a placement year in industry. Whether you aspire to be a forensic, occupational, or educational psychologist, or intend to apply these insights to HR, marketing, or teaching, this degree provides both the BPS-accredited foundation and the practical experience necessary to thrive in a wide range of human-centric professions.
