Psikoloji

Psychology is offered as a 4 year bachelor program at Adana Alparslan Türkeş Science and Technology University in Adana, Turkey, taught in English. The discipline studies human behavior and mental processes, covering areas such as cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, social psychology, and abnormal psychology, along with the research methods used to study them. Typical coursework includes introductory and general psychology, statistics and research methods, biological psychology, developmental psychology, and social psychology, often supported by laboratory or research-based courses where students design and conduct their own studies. Students learn to evaluate psychological research critically and to apply psychological theory to real-world contexts such as education, health, or the workplace. As students progress through the four year program, coursework typically moves from foundational psychology courses toward more specialized subjects such as clinical psychology, organizational psychology, or counseling techniques, depending on available electives. The program's location at a university in Adana provides a Turkish social and cultural context relevant to coursework in social and developmental psychology. Graduates of psychology programs pursue a range of careers, including roles in human resources, market research, education, social services, and counseling support positions, though many roles in clinical psychology require further graduate training and licensure. Some graduates continue directly to graduate study in clinical psychology, counseling, or organizational psychology, while others apply their understanding of human behavior in fields such as marketing, user research, or public health. English-medium instruction supports engagement with the substantial English-language research literature that underpins the field of psychology internationally.
