Psikoloji

Psychology studies human behavior, cognition, and emotion through both theoretical and applied lenses. Coursework typically covers developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, social psychology, personality theory, research methods, and statistics, equipping students to understand and measure mental processes across the lifespan. Students learn to design experiments, interpret psychological data, and apply theoretical models to real-world behavior in educational, clinical, and organizational contexts. The program introduces observation and interview techniques alongside standardized testing principles, giving students practical tools for assessing behavior and mental processes in a structured way. Coursework also addresses abnormal psychology, group dynamics, and the biological basis of behavior, broadening students' understanding of the factors that shape thought and action. Through supervised exercises and case discussions, students practice applying psychological theory to everyday situations, building both critical thinking and empathy. Graduates commonly pursue careers in counseling, human resources, research assistance, education, and social services, and many continue toward further graduate study leading to clinical, counseling, or organizational psychology practice. This program is offered as a bachelor's degree taught in English over a duration of 4 years at Istanbul Gelişim University in İstanbul, Turkey Small-group instruction and applied coursework throughout the program give students regular opportunities to work directly with faculty and refine their skills before entering the workforce.
