Bachelor in Psychology

Psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behavior, examining how people think, feel, and act individually and within social contexts. The discipline covers a broad range of subfields, and typical coursework includes cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, social psychology, personality theory, and abnormal psychology, giving students a comprehensive view of human mental processes across the lifespan. Research methods and statistics are core components of most programs, since psychology relies heavily on empirical research to test theories about behavior and mental processes, and students learn to design studies, collect data, and analyze results using established scientific methods. Coursework in cognitive psychology examines processes such as perception, memory, learning, and decision-making, while developmental psychology traces how thinking and behavior change from infancy through adulthood. Social psychology explores how individuals are influenced by groups, social norms, and interpersonal relationships, and personality theory examines the stable patterns that shape individual differences in behavior. Laboratory and research experience is often built into the curriculum, giving students hands-on practice conducting experiments and analyzing psychological data. As students progress, many programs introduce more applied areas such as clinical psychology, counseling, or organizational psychology, depending on individual interests and career goals.
