Engaging in a simulation of a trade agreement negotiation or dissecting the mechanics of a courtroom procedure are not just academic exercises here; they are core components of a curriculum designed to place you at the heart of the modern political landscape. This Public Affairs MSc moves beyond traditional theoretical study to examine how power, policy, and influence operate within local, national, and international arenas. It is built for those who intend to transition from studying politics to actively shaping it, whether through campaigning, strategic leadership, or high-level negotiation.

The programme's distinctiveness lies in its deeply interdisciplinary approach, allowing you to draw on expertise from the Surrey Business School and the Centre for Environment and Sustainability. This structure enables you to tailor your focus toward specific interests such as legal frameworks, environmental governance, or corporate behavioral change. By integrating AI-driven digital skills and professional placement opportunities—ranging from embassies to government departments and NGOs—the course ensures that you graduate not only with a mastery of political science but with the practical, evidence-based tools required to navigate and influence the complex challenges of the 21st century.
