Master in Responsible Data Analytics Msc

Tuition comes to 19,000 GBP per year.

As data-driven decision-making becomes the cornerstone of global commerce, businesses are seeing growth rates exceeding 30% annually through insight-led strategies. However, this rapid expansion creates a critical tension: the need to extract value from vast datasets while navigating the profound ethical, environmental, and societal implications of data usage. The Responsible Data Analytics MSc addresses this challenge by bridging the gap between high-level technical proficiency and a rigorous commitment to sustainability and corporate integrity.

This programme is designed for those who wish to move beyond simple technical implementation to become leaders in the field of data science. You will explore how analytics impacts fundamental rights, freedoms, and global environmental sustainability—addressing everything from the ecological footprint of server energy consumption to the ethics of resource extraction for hardware. By blending traditional data mining and big data infrastructure with a focus on institutional ethics, this course ensures you are equipped to tackle the complex, real-world problems that define the modern digital economy.

A Sustainable Edge in Data Science

What distinguishes this programme is its embedded focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). You will not only master industry-standard tools like SAS, Hadoop, and Apache Spark, but you will also learn to evaluate the long-term societal consequences of the systems you build. Whether you are aiming for roles in big data architecture, consultancy, or academic research, this course provides the competitive advantage required to thrive in a market that increasingly prioritises responsible and sustainable innovation.
