SDGs and Prosperity

If you already have a leaving certificate, GCSEs or equivalent and wish to understand how the Sustainable Development Goals can be linked to regional prosperity, this micro-credential is aimed at you. It welcomes recent graduates, career-switchers and professionals who want to add a sustainability perspective to their work.

The Sustainable Development Goals set out global targets for energy, employment, infrastructure, inequality and cities. Exploring SDG 7-11 through the lens of prosperity asks how affordable energy, inclusive growth, resilient infrastructure, reduced inequality and sustainable cities can be achieved locally. This course frames those questions within the specific regional context of Ireland’s Atlantic region.

The core module, SDGs and PROSPERITY, delivers 5 credits of mandatory study in one semester, combining online lessons, exercises and a final presentation that applies the five SDGs to a community or business scenario.
