Students complete four supervised field placement courses over two years, gaining hands-on experience in human and social service settings. They apply theory to practice through projects, labs, and real-world client interactions in community organizations and agencies. The program emphasizes ethical decision-making, reconciliation, and Indigenous-informed practice. Students develop skills in advocacy, social policy, and working with individuals, families, and communities.

Two years, full or part-time, 700 hours of field placement, co-op not applicable.

Graduates are eligible to apply for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers and may work in health services, social service agencies, victim services, and employee assistance programs.

50% in ELA 30-1 or 65% in ELA 30-2. 50% in Social Studies 30-1 or 50% in Aboriginal Studies 30 or 65% in Social Studies 30-2. English language proficiency required for non-native speakers: IELTS 6.5 with no band below 5.5, or equivalent.

On-campus or online, full or part-time, two years.
