Bachelor in Sociology BA Honours

Tuition is 17,600 GBP per year.

Each week you will attend lectures and seminars, join research workshops on London as a global city, and take part in field trips to museums, galleries and street-art sites. In the second year you will complete a work-based learning module, carrying out a placement with partners such as the Metropolitan Police or teaching schemes, and develop a professional CV.

The programme suits students who already have a keen interest in social inequality, identity and the ways power operates in everyday life. You will build a critical understanding of topics like class, gender, race and sexuality, and refine analytical and communication skills through a mix of essays, projects and a final dissertation. A concrete example is the ‘London Explored’ core module, where you design a research proposal on a London-based issue and present your findings.

• Work-based Learning module in year 2 offering placements such as the Metropolitan Police scheme.
• Core modules including Identity and Society, London Explored and Researching Society.
• Option modules on Gender and Sexuality Studies, Understanding Race and Food, Taste and Consumption.
• Central London campus providing easy access to museums, galleries and diverse urban environments for fieldwork.
