Each week you will split your time between small-group teaching, hands-on practice in purpose-built rehabilitation and assessment suites, and work-based placements. Early semesters include short placements in NHS Trusts or independent providers, while the second year culminates in a full-time placement aligned with your interests, giving you real-world experience with clients who have communication, eating, drinking and swallowing challenges.

The programme is accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and benefits from strong links with clinical partners across the North West. You also gain access to the university’s Allied Health Research Unit, the regional CAHPR hub and the ReSNetSLT digital community. Graduates go on to register as speech and language therapists and work in the NHS, private practice, charitable organisations or pursue further research.
