Tuition is £30,420 (full-time).

Each week you will attend two lectures and a fortnightly guided-study session for every ten-credit module, supplemented by regular MSc group tutorial meetings. The taught portion of the year is divided into an Autumn term and a Spring term, during which you complete coursework, engage in practical assignments and sit written examinations in the May/June main exam period. You will also participate in tutorials and project work that bridge theory and application. In the summer term you devote your time to a 60-credit dissertation, meeting your personal supervisor for one-to-one guidance, conducting independent research and delivering a final oral presentation.

Statistical Data Science investigates how to extract knowledge from large, complex datasets, integrating statistical inference, machine learning, optimisation and visualisation techniques. The curriculum covers foundational topics such as Bayesian inference, statistical modelling and deep learning, and offers optional modules that allow you to specialise in areas like computational statistics, medical statistics or time-series analysis. By mastering these methods you will be prepared for analytical roles in finance, healthcare, technology, or government where data-driven decision making is central.
