Bachelor in Technical Engineering (BEng), full-time

Amberg, Germany Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

Technical Engineering at OTH Amberg-Weiden is a seven-semester Bachelor of Engineering programme taught in English and aimed specifically at international students who wish to complete an engineering degree at a German university. The programme provides broad coverage of fundamental engineering sciences alongside studies in business management, intercultural competencies, and languages, with the aim of preparing students for work in international technical environments. From the third semester onward, students select from a range of elective modules and may also opt for German-language courses from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering/Environmental Engineering, giving them flexibility to shape their own academic focus. The first two semesters establish compulsory foundations, semesters three and four develop specialisation groundwork, and semesters five and six go deeper into chosen specialisations, with concurrent German language instruction up to B2 level. The internship semester and final thesis both take place in the seventh semester, with no lectures scheduled during that period. This arrangement provides students with a sustained period of industry experience, which the university considers an important step toward entering employment. Upon successful completion and defence of the Bachelor's thesis, graduates receive the degree of Bachelor of Engineering in Technical Engineering. The programme is offered at Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg-Weiden (OTH) in Amberg, Germany.
