Technical Production

The Technical Production program at Mountview is a two-year, full-time course designed for students passionate about sound, lighting, and stagecraft. This program is ideal for those who thrive in hands-on environments and seek to develop practical skills in a professional theatre setting. Students will engage in over 20 in-house productions each year, gaining invaluable experience and industry connections.

Throughout the course, students will learn essential skills such as lighting and sound design, technical equipment management, and video mapping. The curriculum includes hands-on training with contemporary equipment, programming and operating sound and lighting desks, and understanding the intricacies of live production. Students will also participate in practical projects and masterclasses led by industry professionals, ensuring they are well-prepared for the fast-paced world of technical production.

Graduates of the Technical Production program can pursue various roles in the industry, including Lighting Designer, Sound Technician, Stage Manager, and Production Assistant. They will find opportunities in theatres, production companies, and event management firms. The skills acquired during the program are transferable across various sectors, making graduates versatile professionals ready to tackle diverse challenges in the performing arts.
