About Master in Technomathematics (Industrial Mathematics)

The Industrial Mathematics master's programme at TU Dortmund University is the English-language version of the Technomathematics programme, combining pure and applied mathematics — including numerics, optimisation, and scientific computing — with substantial computer science components and application areas drawn from natural sciences and engineering. The minor subject allows students to connect their mathematical training to fields such as construction mechanics, chemistry, electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or mechanical engineering. Practice-oriented study projects and industrial internships carried out in cooperation with companies from the Dortmund area and the Ruhr region are integrated into the programme, providing students with experience relevant to regional and international employers in industry and research. The four-semester programme begins in the winter semester, with lectures starting in October. Programming skills are required from the start of the programme. The programme is based at TU Dortmund University in Dortmund, Germany.
