The Theological Studies Department is a four-year bachelor's program at Tokyo Christian University in Chiba, Japan, taught in English, with entry in August. Tokyo Christian University describes itself as an evangelical university in Japan, and states it is the only evangelical institution accredited by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, an accreditation the university says is recognized internationally. Since a 2021 university reform, the former Department of Theological Studies and Department of International Christian Social Work have been combined into a single Comprehensive Department of Theology; all students enroll in this department and study shared subjects in their first two years before choosing one of five majors in the third year: Church Ministries, Global Studies, Youth Studies, Christian Social Work, or Theological Studies.
