Bachelor in Urban and Regional Planning

Urban and Regional Planning studies how cities and regions grow and change, and how planners can guide that development to serve social, economic, and environmental goals. Students examine topics such as land use planning, urban design, housing policy, transportation planning, environmental planning, and geographic information systems, learning to analyze spatial data and propose plans for the organized development of urban and rural areas. Coursework often combines classroom study of planning theory and policy with studio-based project work in which students develop planning proposals for real or hypothetical sites, building practical skills in spatial analysis and design.
