About Master in Urbane Zukunft (M.A.)

Central to this programme is the Urban Future Talks, a series of online events featuring experts from diverse fields such as climate change, social segregation, and Big Data.

It offers an interdisciplinary perspective on urban transformation, with a focus on sustainability. With a focus on sustainability, the programme addresses challenges of cities such as population changes, climate protection, and social segregation.

The programme also features a Forschungspraktikum in the third semester, offering practical experience with research methods and urban transformation processes.

Students can choose from three thematic focus areas: Built Environment, Social Environment, and Digital Environment. Built Environment focuses on future-proof infrastructures, sustainable neighborhood development, and urban metabolism. Social Environment covers demographic changes, social inequality, and participation in transformation processes. Digital Environment deals with urban data analysis, digital transformation, and ethical considerations.
