Master in Veterinary science

Veterinary science at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin, known as ULSL, is a master's programme taught in English over 5.5 years. The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine traces its history back to 1944, and since then around six thousand veterinary surgeons have graduated from it. The diploma is recognised within the European Union. The university has strong sports facilities, with a modern sports and recreation centre where students can pursue athletics, swimming, basketball, volleyball, combat sports, and climbing, and a nearby sailing station providing water sports equipment. Lublin itself, located in the heart of Europe, is known for its cultural life and student opportunities. Practical education is built into the 5.5 year, 11 semester programme, combining hands-on clinical practice with modern teaching methods. Practical training takes place in private clinics, meat plants, milk plants, and sanitary-veterinary inspection units, with students actively participating in the diagnosis and treatment of clinical cases. The university's own clinics include eight surgical theatres, covering small animals, farm animals, ophthalmology, and dentistry. The curriculum offers 38 elective subjects, of which students choose 12 across the whole period of study, allowing them to shape their studies around a chosen area of interest. Veterinary medicine as a field combines biology, pathology, and clinical practice to diagnose, treat, and prevent disease across farm, companion, and exotic animal species, alongside food safety and public health work. Graduates commonly pursue careers in private veterinary clinics, farm animal practice, food industry inspection roles, and research settings, drawing on the practical clinical training built into the Lublin programme.
