Tuition is CAD 1,366.72 per term.

The Welder Apprenticeship Program at Keyano College takes three years to complete. Each year includes eight weeks of in-person classes followed by paid on-the-job training. Each year also includes at least 1,560 hours of workplace learning under a qualified journeyperson. The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on experience in welding environments.

Electric arc, gas, and resistance welding techniques are taught. Blueprints are read and interpreted. Material needs are calculated. Welding equipment is operated safely. Training prepares for work in pipeline construction, structural steel assembly, and industrial fabrication. The Interprovincial Red Seal Exam can be challenged in the final year to earn national certification.

The program does not accept international applicants. Applicants must be residents of Alberta or working primarily in Alberta. Applicants must also be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or hold a valid work permit. Tuition is due ten business days before each term begins. Steel-toe boots and safety gear are required and provided at the start of the program.
